Stanford Slips in Polls After Opening Loss
Stanford fell three places to No. 20 in the Associated Press college football poll by losing to Texas A&M;, 10-7, in the Pigskin Classic last Wednesday.
The Cardinal also slipped two spots to No. 22 in the CNN/USA Today poll.
Texas A&M; remained in the No. 7 spot in the Associated Press poll and fell one spot to No. 8 in the CNN poll.
Miami, Washington and Notre Dame continue to hold the first three spots in both polls.
North Carolina State’s 24-14 victory over Iowa Saturday in the Kickoff Classic put the Wolfpack, unranked in the preseason poll, at No. 18 in the AP poll and No. 17 according to CNN/USA Today. Iowa fell seven spots to No. 23 in the AP poll and dropped five positions to No. 20 in the CNN/USA Today poll.
