Vereen: Coming Back: Tony Award-winning entertainer Ben Vereen told “Good Morning America” viewers Monday that his near-fatal accident in June “wasn’t suicide” and said he’s “coming back” from his serious injuries. Interviewed in the “GMA” studio in New York City by Joan Lunden, Vereen said he didn’t “remember a thing” about the accident that took place on Pacific Coast Highway near his home in Malibu. He described his prognosis as “very good,” but admitted the road to recovery is hard work. Paying tribute to friends he’s made at a rehabilitation center, Vereen noted, “We’re all there fighting for our lives. You don’t know about life until you lose it and have to get it back.”
