LAGUNA HILLS : Woman Killed When Car Rolls Over Her
An 81-year-old Leisure World resident was killed in front of her home Thursday morning when her car rolled over her, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The incident occurred just before noon on Avenida de Cantante, a small residential street within the private retirement community, CHP Officer Bruce Lian said.
The woman, Anne Salz, was standing in the street next to her car when the accident occurred, Lian said.
“She may have forgotten something inside of the house and tried to go back into the house,” Lian said. “For whatever reason, the parking brake was not on and the car knocked her to the ground and rolled over her.”
Salz sustained major trauma to her body and died at the scene of the accident, Lian said.
The incident is under investigation and CHP officials are asking that any witnesses call Lian or Officer Mark Mudrick at (714) 661-6215.
