Three Los Angeles residents were arrested on suspicion of stealing avocados Friday night after their car was stopped in Moorpark.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Lt. Kelli McIlvain said the suspects’ car was stopped for a registration violation about 9:30 p.m. The deputy recognized two of the occupants from a previous arrest related to avocado theft, McIlvain said.

A search of the car turned up about 300 pounds of avocados with an estimated value of $300, the lieutenant said.
