Here are some popular films coming to cable this fall:

Cinemax

“Naked Lunch”--David Cronenberg (“Scanners,” “Dead Ringers”) wrote and directed this surreal adaptation of William Burrough’s controversial ‘50s beat novel. Peter Weller, Judy Davis and Roy Scheider star (December).

“Europa, Europa”--Acclaimed factual German film about a German Jewish lad who survives Nazi persecution by pretending to be a Gentile (December).

The Disney Channel

“Rescuers Down Under”--The intrepid mice go to Australia in this animated sequel to the Disney hit “The Rescuers.” Bob Newhart, Eva Gabor and Tristan Rogers supply the voices (Nov. 1).

HBO

“Dead Again”--Kenneth Branagh stars in and directed this stylish, clever film noir. Emma Thompson (Mrs. Branagh), Derek Jacobi and Andy Garcia also star (Sept. 26).

“Other People’s Money”--Danny DeVito, Gregory Peck, Piper Laurie and Penelope Ann Miller head the cast of Norman Jewison’s version of the hit off-Broadway play about a corporate raider (October).

“The Last Boy Scout”--Ex-cop-turned-private eye Bruce Willis and former football star Damon Wayans team up to get the bad guys in this action-adventure (November).

“The Addams Family”--They’re neat and petite and made millions at the box office. Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia and Christopher Lloyd star in the big-screen version of the camp ‘60s TV series based on Charles Addams’ cartoons (December).

“For the Boys”--Bette Midler won the Golden Globe and received an Oscar nomination for this maudlin musical-drama about the relationship between a singer and a comic (James Caan) (December).

“My Girl”-- Macaulay “Home Alone” Culkin gets stung by a bee and dies in this comedy-drama. Anna Chumsky, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dan Aykroyd also star (December).

The Movie Channel and Showtime

“The Fisher King”--Terry Gilliam directed this acclaimed comedy-drama starring Jeff Bridges, Robin Williams and Oscar-winner Mercedes Ruhl (October).

“Father of the Bride”--Popular remake of the 1950 classic stars Steve Martin in the title role. Diane Keaton and Martin Short, who steals the film, co-star (December).

“Deceived”--In this suspense-thriller, Goldie Hawn discovers the man she marries is actually a murderer; (November).

“Paradise”--Melanie Griffith and her husband Don Johnson play a married couple trying to cope with the death of their young son in this drama, which also stars Elijah Wood (October).
