Menu’s Shelf Life May Be Limited

The posh Prego restaurant in Beverly Hills said it has added a “Presidential Menu” to its selection of banquet offerings after serving President Bush at a private gathering in Bel-Air.
The fare doesn’t include broccoli.
“We felt our patrons would enjoy dining on the same authentic Italian cuisine that President Bush enjoyed,” a Prego news release said.
The menu included buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes, pasta stuffed with Maine lobster, veal with mushrooms, baby potatoes and baby green beans--and, for dessert, “an almond pastry basket filled with vanilla-bean gelato, mixed wild berries and shaved chocolate.”
The news release failed to say whether Prego will rename the menu the “Ex-Presidential Menu” if Bill Clinton wins the November election.
