Lucero Wins Main Event at Speedway

Steve Lucero of Riverside won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Lucero was the wire-to-wire winner with Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano finishing second, Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa third and Robert Pfetzing of Orange was fourth.

Oxley won the eight-lap handicap main event after starting with a 40-yard handicap. Mike Faria of Downey was second, Bart Bast of Auburn was third, Pfetzing was fourth, John Aden of Apple Valley was fifth, and Shawn McConnell of Brea was sixth.
