Kenyan runner Benson Masya set an unofficial world best in the Great North Run half-marathon at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England. Masya’s time of 60 minutes 24 seconds was three seconds faster than the previous best, set by Australian Steve Moneghetti at Tokyo earlier this year.
