ORANGE — Authorities are seeking relatives of a 20-year-old woman who is in critical condition following a head-on collision Thursday in Fullerton.
Ana Maria Uyan of Bellflower was southbound on Brookhurst Street about 6:15 a.m. when her car veered into oncoming traffic and hit a van driven by Muyn Kang, 29, of Riverside, Fullerton Police Lt. Mike Stedman said.
Fran Tardiff, a spokesman at UCI Medical Center here, said doctors have not been able to find Uyan’s family. She was described as weighing about 140 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.
Uyan was alone in her car.
A rescue crew used a hydraulic prying device to free Kang from his van. He was in fair condition at Martin Luther Hospital in Anaheim, Stedman said.
The lieutenant said there was no indication that either driver had been drinking or was traveling at an unsafe speed.
Hospital officials urged anyone who knows Uyan to call the medical center’s security officers at (714) 456-5493.
