OCOTILLO WELLS : Body of Man Found Near Desert Road
The remains of an unidentified man were found wrapped and covered with dirt in the Anza-Borrego Desert, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said Monday.
A motorist stopped to take a picture of the scenery and noticed the remains from where he stood several hundred feet from the 81-mile marker on California 78 about 6 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Jim Cook said.
Although the cause of death is not yet known, sheriff’s homicide detectives suspect that the unidentified black man was a murder victim. Autopsy results were pending.
