JAGGER II: The Jagger-Rubin sessions could actually end up as two albums. In the middle of recording the album, Rubin brought in the L.A.-based blues-rock band the Red Devils (whose latest album he produced and released on Def American) to record a couple of classic blues songs with Jagger. But the session went better, though differently, than expected.

“We were going to record just one or two songs with them, but we did 14--all in one day--and it sounded so great we thought it should be a whole other album,” Rubin said. “I assume it will come out someday. Mick had a great time singing that stuff. It was a long day of singing. We did every song an average of three or four times, but he sang every word to every song all day.”

Still, even with possibly two Jagger albums in the can, the singer is already making plans for another Stones album, which will be recorded next year, with a tour likely to follow. Both Jagger and Richards are making solo tour plans, but nothing has been announced.
