Because Sunday’s game went into extra innings, CBS was unable to televise Sunday’s presidential debate live. The network instead planned to show it tape-delayed at 2 a.m.
The 11-inning game barely ended in time for CBS to pick up the start of the National League playoff game between the Pirates and Braves. If the game had continued on, the network would have broken away in Pittsburgh and Atlanta, a CBS spokeswoman said.
