NORTHRIDGE : CSUN Panel May Choose Provost
New Cal State Northridge President Blenda J. Wilson said she will seek to have a seven-member committee made up of faculty, her own appointees and the student body president select the school’s new provost.
Wilson announced last week that she is creating the provost job, which will also include the title of vice president of academic affairs.
There are currently three vice president jobs at CSUN.
The provost will take charge of the school when Wilson is away, a campus spokeswoman said, and will report directly to Wilson.
The proposal to create the committee to hire a provost must first be approved by the school’s Faculty Senate.
An appointment is expected by the end of the year, according to campus officials.
