You don’t need to be 18, or even have a taste for politics, to cast a request for Gov. Bill Clinton’s politically correct recipe for tuna salad. Simply call Bumble Bee Seafoods at (800) 800-8572 for a free copy.

However, you do need to be at least 18 to enter Quaker Oats Co.’s recipe contest. You also have to come up with an original recipe using at least a cup of uncooked Quaker Oats. There are three categories: cookies, desserts, breads/muffins. Grand prize is $10,000. Enter as often as you like, but each entry must be printed or typed on an 8 1/2x11-inch sheet of paper (include your name, address, ZIP code and phone number) and mailed in a separate envelope along with a proof of purchase (UPC from Quaker Oats package or cash register receipt showing purchase). Don’t forget to include category, recipe name, number of servings, list of ingredients with specific quantities in order of use and complete preparation directions. Send entries to: Quaker Oats It’s the Right Thing to Do Recipe Contest, P.O. Box 530, Barrington, Ill. 60011. Entries must be postmarked by Oct. 31.
