SANTA ANA — Ten anti-abortion demonstrators were arrested on Saturday morning for blocking the entrance to a family planning clinic.
The protest was peaceful until a patient tried to enter the clinic at 1125 E. 17th St. about 7:30 a.m. The demonstrators physically blocked the doorway and had to be removed by police officers.
The demonstrators--six men, two women and two teen-age girls--were cited for obstructing a business and released. Police were unsure whether they were connected to an organization or involved with other anti-abortion demonstrations.
Those arrested were Jeffrey Connor, 31, of Orange; Colleen Cummings, 31; Verne Hunt, 37; Martin Jacobson, 39, of Anaheim; Sharon Kenny, 49, of Sun City; James Molloy, 35, of Santa Ana; Gary Mullins, 24, of Garden Grove; Galen Walker, 43, of Corona; and two 15-year-old girls whose names were not released because they are juveniles.
