Arizona State Shuts Down Oregon State

Eric Guliford caught 10 passes for 131 yards and scored two touchdowns, and Jerone Davison added 157 yards rushing as Arizona State routed Oregon State, 40-13, Saturday night in a Pacific 10 Conference game.

Davison added a touchdown for Arizona State, 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

The Sun Devils stopped Oregon State’s wishbone offense in the first half, shutting out the Beavers (1-5-1, 0-3-1) until the last two minutes of the second quarter and taking an 18-7 halftime lead.

But Oregon State’s Chad Poulson scored on a four-yard run on the second play of the fourth quarter to cut Arizona State’s lead to 18-13 with 14:16 left to play.

But then the Sun Devils pulled away, as Guliford caught a 22-yard touchdown pass.
