SANTA CLARITA : City Appoints New Parks Director
Richard Putnam has been appointed director of parks and recreation for the city of Santa Clarita after having served Beverly Hills in the same capacity since 1982, Santa Clarita officials said. His appointment becomes effective Nov. 7.
Putnam, who also served as Beverly Hills’ director of public services from 1989 through 1991, has more than 25 years of municipal management experience.
Putnam succeeds Assistant City Manager Kenneth Pulskamp, who has served as acting parks and recreation director since last summer, when former director Jeff Kolin was appointed director of public works.
In his new position, Putnam will be paid in the range of $6,161 to $7,489 per month, officials said.
