Transfer of Funds Restores Library Hours

A transfer of $1 million by the Board of Supervisors to the Los Angeles County Public Library system has restored Monday hours at some branches and altered hours at others.

The following new hours in 23 county libraries within the San Gabriel Valley will start Monday:

* Baldwin Park: 4181 Baldwin Park Blvd.; closed Sunday; open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

* Charter Oak: 20562 E. Arrow Highway, Covina; closed Sunday, Monday and Thursday; open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Saturday, 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.

* Claremont: 208 N. Harvard Ave.; closed Sunday; open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

* Del Mar: 3132 N. Del Mar Ave., Rosemead; closed Saturday, Sunday and Thursday; open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

* Diamond Bar: 1061 S. Grand Ave.; closed Sunday; open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

* Duarte: 1301 Buena Vista Ave.; closed Sunday and Monday; open from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

* Edgewood: 1435 W. Puente Ave., West Covina; closed Sunday, Monday and Thursday; open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

* El Monte: 3224 N. Tyler Ave.; closed Saturday and Sunday; open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

* Hacienda Heights: 16010 E. La Monde St.; closed Sunday; open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
