Dan Eichloff kicked four field goals and set a school record for consecutive extra points as No. 18 Kansas beat Oklahoma State, 26-18, Saturday for its first victory over the Cowboys at Lawrence, Kan., in 24 years.

Eichloff connected from 28 yards in the first quarter, 43 in the second and 23 and 34 in the fourth as Kansas continued its best season since its last Big Eight championship season in 1968.

Eichloff’s extra point after Maurice Douglas’ one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was his 54th in a row, breaking a nine-year-old school record. Eichloff has made 14 of 16 field-goal attempts this year. His only two misses were blocked.

Kansas had a 26-3 lead, but Oklahoma State (4-4, 2-2) made it close when Gary Porter hit Shannon Culver with an eight-yard touchdown pass and Rafael Denson with an 11-yard scoring pass in the final three minutes.

Oklahoma State missed three scoring opportunities in the first half and got a 47-yard field goal in the third quarter from Lawson Vaughn, who missed earlier from 38 and 42.

Collins, starting in place of injured Cale Gundy, completed seven of 18 passes for 99 yards with an interception. His four-yard scoring pass to Albert Hall gave Oklahoma (4-3-1, 2-1-1) a 10-7 lead in the first quarter.

Kansas State (3-4, 0-3) regained the lead, 14-10, in the second quarter on a seven-yard run by Jason Smargiasso.
