U.S. Open Polo Championship Set Today in Indio
Some of the top polo players in the country will compete for the U.S. Open polo championship today at the Eldorado Polo Club in Indio.
The Gracida brothers, Carlos and Memo, playing for Hanalei Bay, will play for the title against Fish Creek, led by 10-goaler Owen Rinehart. The match begins at 2:30 p.m.
The title game concludes tournament play that began Oct. 20 with five teams.
This is only the fourth time in 88 years that the championship will be played in California. The open is the oldest polo tournament in the country.
