Highland Park : Meeting on York Blvd. Plan
City Councilman Richard Alatorre will meet with community members tonight to discuss a plan to build an artists’ village and child-care center on a vacant city-owned lot on York Boulevard.
The plan for the 30,000-square-foot lot at North Avenue 53 and York Boulevard is part of a larger effort to improve the boulevard by attracting new business to the area, organizers said.
The Community Redevelopment Agency has agreed to fund the project, said Diego Cardoso, a representative for Alatorre’s office.
At the meeting, Alatorre will present CRA’s recommendations for evaluation by the community.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Highland Park Senior Citizen Center, 6152 N. Figueroa St.
