VAN NUYS : Airport Report to Focus on Jobs
The Los Angeles Department of Airports will release a report Friday that will detail the number of jobs and the amount of business generated by Van Nuys Airport.
The report, which will be prepared by Wilbur Smith Associates of Los Angeles, is expected to provide airport officials with fresh ammunition to counter a recent barrage of neighbors’ criticism about airport noise.
The report will “feature Van Nuys Airport’s economic value to the Southern California economy, based on the number of jobs, earnings and expenditures attributable to the airport,” according to a Van Nuys Airport news release.
The report will be released during the 1 p.m. Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners meeting at the administration building at Los Angeles International Airport.
