The networks’ November sweeps ratings battle heats up Sunday night with three new programs.

On ABC at 8 p.m., it’s the first of the two-part miniseries “The Jacksons: An American Dream,” a drama about the pop music family starring Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs, Angela Bassett and Holly Robinson, (7)(3)(10)(42). The miniseries concludes Wednesday at 9 p.m.

CBS will counter with “When No One Will Listen,” a TV movie starring Michele Lee and James Farentino, about a put-upon woman and her abusive husband, at 9 p.m. on (2)(8).

And, NBC salutes talk-show host Phil Donahue on “Donahue: The 25th Anniversary,” with guest appearances by Oprah Winfrey, Sally Jessy Raphael, Joan Rivers, Geraldo Rivera, Maury Povich, Larry King, David Letterman, Barbara Walters, Phil Hartman and Diane Sawyer, at 9 p.m. on (4)(36)(39.

Meanwhile, the popular topics on this weekend’s public affairs shows will be President-elect Bill Clinton’s transition to the White House and gays and the military.
