PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Bracken’s Punting Has Tailed Off

After starting off solidly, Ram punter Don Bracken has averaged 39.6 yards on his last 23 punts and Sunday kicked a short line drive that Dallas’ Kelvin Martin ran back 74 yards for a go-ahead touchdown.

Over the past five games, Bracken’s net punting average--subtracting the amount of the return--is only 30.7.

“Obviously we’re concerned,” Coach Chuck Knox said. “He was doing a great job of punting earlier in the year.”

“But we don’t have any plans to change . . . usually, we don’t make personnel decisions on a Monday after a game.”
