MOORPARK : City Seeks Diversity in Its Appointees
- Share via
Under a new process aimed at attracting a broader scope of Moorpark residents to city commissions and other appointed posts, the city will require aspiring appointees to formally apply for the jobs.
The first applicants being solicited are for the city’s five-member planning and parks commissions. Applications for membership to both bodies are available at City Hall and are being accepted through Dec. 16. Appointments are scheduled to be made in January.
In the past, the positions were filled after council members suggested appointees--often friends or relatives--that the rest of the council found acceptable.
