PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Knox: Offensive Line a Concern

Share

With starting tackle Gerald Perry still in South Carolina visiting his seriously ill mother and starting guard Tom Newberry missing practice because of a groin injury, Ram Coach Chuck Knox on Thursday sounded a little worried. “That’s the left side of our offensive line,” Knox said.

Knox said he expects Newberry to be available Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers but added that he had not heard from Perry and was not sure if he would be back in time to play.

Veteran backup Robert Jenkins has been filling in for Perry in practice.

Backup receiver Aaron Cox, whose career has been plagued by hamstring problems, missed another day of practice Thursday and Knox indicated that he might not be available Sunday.. . . Injured running back Robert Delpino (knee) probably won’t be activated until next week. “He needs to get more conditioning, more running, more work with the pads on,” Knox said.
