OJAI : Council to Vote on Anti-Graffiti Law

Share

The Ojai City Council will decide Tuesday whether to adopt an anti-graffiti ordinance that would limit the sale of some paints and markers and require property owners to clean up tagged areas within 10 days.

If adopted, the ordinance would make it illegal to sell minors spray paint and waterproof or permanent markers with a quarter-inch tip or larger.

In addition, the ordinance requires residents or business owners to remove graffiti from their property within 10 days or pay the city to remove it. The ordinance calls for convicted offenders to pay restitution for the cost of cleanup and requires them to perform community service.
