An off-duty Baldwin Park police officer was seriously injured while riding his motorcycle on Angeles Crest Highway last weekend, Chief Carmine Lanza said.
Mark Kincaid, 22, of Burbank, was riding down the mountain road Nov. 14 about 11 a.m. when a motorcyclist heading in the opposite direction crossed into Kincaid’s lane and hit him head-on, Lanza said last week.
The other cyclist was killed instantly. Kincaid was airlifted to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. Kincaid’s left leg was amputated below the knee, his left thigh was fractured and he suffered broken ribs and some nerve damage to his left arm and shoulder, Lanza said.
Donations for Kincaid are being accepted in care of: Det. Chris Carlos, 14403 E. Pacific Ave., Baldwin Park 91706.
