Police are investigating a complaint that Glen Rice of the Miami Heat hit a man in the face with a beer bottle in a pre-dawn incident in a topless bar.

Angel Estevez, who required 10 stitches below his right eye, told police he was sitting across from Rice at about 4:30 a.m. when the player began “looking at him with a bad face.”

“He doesn’t know why he was hit,” said Metro-Dade police spokesman George Reyes. “It apparently came for no reason.”

“It’s a pretty serious injury,” Reyes said. “He possibly may lose his eye because of the broken glass that went in.”

Detectives said they planned to interview Rice, 25, about the incident. Through his attorney, Rice denied being involved in any altercation. The team said no disciplinary action is planned.
