El Monte : Crime Funds to Aid Schools

Share

Several anti-drug and alcohol programs in El Monte schools will be funded with the proceeds from assets seized in drug-related crimes.

The City Council last week unanimously approved use of $52,800 obtained by the city through the federal asset forfeiture law for after-school programs in 21 elementary and junior high schools and three high schools.

The money will also support “Without Warning ‘93,” in which students are shown a re-created scene of a drunk-driving accident.
