A 32-year-old man was the victim of a carjacking early Sunday when a man who flagged him down drew a knife and forced him out of his car, San Diego police said.

Tung Hai Nguyen was driving west in the 4300 block of Orange Avenue when he was flagged down by the assailant, described as a Latino in a white polo shirt, at about 12:25 a.m. The carjacker then brandished a long-bladed knife, pulled the keys from the ignition and commandeered the white 1986 Honda Prelude, police said.

Nguyen was not injured.
