PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Brown Gets a Double Dose of Pain
The Raiders’ 27-3 loss to the San Diego Chargers Sunday night was a painful one for receiver Tim Brown, both physically and emotionally.
His fumble killed a crucial Raider drive.
And his ankle, sprained the week before, was hurt again when Charger linebacker Gary Plummer twisted it.
“He’s moving a little gingerly,” Coach Art Shell said of Brown. But Shell fully expects Brown to play Sunday at the Coliseum against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Asked whether he thought he had indeed fumbled when hit by Junior Seau, Brown said: “I thought my knee touched the ground first, but it was so close, the call could have gone either way. On the road, you’re not going to get many calls.”
The weekend wasn’t a total loss for Brown, whose alma mater, Notre Dame, beat USC.
“Thank God for Notre Dame,” he said.
