Four men forced their way into a home Wednesday morning, tied up its four residents and robbed them of cash, police said.

The robbers, in their late teens or early 20s, wore bandannas around their faces and one carried a handgun, Police Sgt. Joseph Garcia said.

The three females and one male who live in the house were not injured in the 11 a.m. attack in the 15000 block of Myrtle Street.

Garcia said the crime fit the profile of “home-invasion” robberies which have occurred elsewhere in the county.

“Although this type of robbery has occurred in other cities, we have not had one like it in Tustin for at least three years,” Garcia said.

After being tied up for about 30 minutes, one of the residents managed to get to a telephone, Garcia said.

Police did not release the amount of cash taken from the residents.
