A new police task force devoted to carjackings made its first arrest just two weeks after its creation. The Crime Suppression Unit arrested Donald Mark, 34, in connection with a carjacking of a 60-year-old man. Police had been searching for Mark regarding a parole violation when he was arrested in the stolen car, said Sgt. Kevin Cashman. There have been 65 carjackings in the city since September, when police began recording carjackings.
