Good things happened for Nebraska when Tommie Frazier went back to pass Sunday.

The Cornhuskers’ freshman quarterback threw for one touchdown and ran for three more, two on broken pass plays, as No. 11 Nebraska clinched the Big Eight Conference championship and a trip to the Orange Bowl with a 38-24 victory over Kansas State.

The Cornhuskers, 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the Big Eight, finished with at least nine victories for the 24th consecutive season.

Kansas State (5-6, 2-5) hasn’t beaten Nebraska since 1968.

Frazier’s touchdown pass went 18 yards to Corey Dixon before he ran 19 and four yards for touchdowns after going back to pass.
