PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : They Don’t Control Playoff Destiny

Share

The Raiders are still mathematically alive for a playoff berth but will need help from other teams.

With a 6-7 record, the Raiders need to win their remaining three games against Miami (on Monday night), San Diego and Washington, then hope that at least three of these teams lose two of their last three games: Kansas City (8-5), San Diego (8-5), Miami (8-5), Houston (8-5) and Cleveland (7-6). The Raiders also need Denver (7-6) to lose a game.

The last time the Raiders played Miami was two years ago, when they defeated the Dolphins, 13-10, at Joe Robbie Stadium. The Raiders held Miami to 14 yards rushing as Marcus Allen scored the winning touchdown on a two-yard run. . . . Eric Dickerson leads the Raiders in rushing with 693 yards in 170 carries. He has gained 287 yards in his last three games and needs 307 in his last three games to reach 1,000 for the eighth time in his 10-year career and for the first time in three seasons.
