COSTA MESA : Sanitary District to Fill Board Vacancy

Share

Because of the resignation of Harry Green, the Costa Mesa Sanitary District is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on its Board of Directors.

Green, a director since 1980, resigned from the five-member board earlier this month because of health reasons. He has served as secretary of the board since 1990.

The primary function of the board is to oversee the administrative and financial matters of the district, its operating budget, which exceeds $5 million, and the district’s Capital Improvement Program. The board also sets the rates for trash collection, recycling and sewer services.

The appointment will be made by the four current board members, James Wahner, James Ferryman, Nate Reade and Art Perry. The appointee will finish Green’s four-year term, which ends November, 1994.

Interested persons residing in Costa Mesa are asked to send by Jan. 8 a letter of interest and a brief resume to the Costa Mesa Sanitary District Office, P.O. Box 1200, Costa Mesa 92628-1200.
