Hollywood : Suspect in Shooting Sought

Share

Detectives at the LAPD’s Hollywood station are looking for a man known only as Luis for questioning in the death of Sharron Cooper, who was shot and killed on a Hollywood corner Nov. 16.

Cooper grew up in the area and also went by the name of Logan. She apparently knew the man who shot her at El Centro Avenue and Banner Street, but it did not appear to be a lover’s quarrel, neighbors told police.

They said Luis had been riding in a older-model, faded red pickup truck with two other men when he saw the victim and stopped to chat just after 7 p.m.

It was then that she was shot, “possibly as an accident, as a result of inappropriate play with a gun,” said Det. Lloyd Parry.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 20- to 25-years-old, about 140 pounds, with a gold crown on an upper front tooth. The other passenger was known as Tobie, police said. The driver, whose name was not known, was described as a man about 40 with a very heavy mustache.

Parry said anyone with information about the case should call the Hollywood homicide office at (213) 485-6410.
