THOUSAND OAKS : 2 Residents Arrested After Drug Search

Two Thousand Oaks residents have been arrested on suspicion of possessing narcotics for sale after police found a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine and LSD during a search of their residence, authorities said Thursday.

Michael Staiti, 36, and Kathie Davisson, 38, were arrested Wednesday evening by Ventura County sheriff’s narcotics officers at the pair’s residence in the 200 block of Houston Drive, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Gary Pentis. Davisson rented a room in the house from Staiti, he said.

The arrests came at the conclusion of a monthlong investigation that started when narcotics officers received information that Staiti was selling cocaine, Pentis said. Detectives watched Staiti’s residence and observed what they believed was sales activity, with numerous people--including known narcotic offenders--making brief visits, Pentis said.

When officers obtained a warrant and searched Staiti’s residence, they found about six ounces of cocaine in his possession, and a quarter-ounce of methamphetamine and seven doses of the hallucinogen LSD in Davisson’s possession, Pentis said. The illicit drugs were worth an estimated $17,730 on the street, he said.

Staiti and Davisson were each released from jail Thursday on $10,000 bail and are scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 23, according to a court official.
