TUSTIN : Henry Picked to Lead School District Board

The Tustin Unified School District board this week elected four-year school board member Merlin L. Henry Jr. as its new president and Gloria Tuchman as vice president and clerk for 1993.

Henry, who served as board vice president for the last two years, was reelected to his second term in the Nov. 3 election. As president, Henry will represent the school district and run board meetings.

Tuchman has been on the board since 1985. She was vice president and clerk in 1988 and president in 1990.

Newly elected board members Sally Burrage and Todd Ferguson were formally sworn in to their four-year terms.

The board also appointed representatives to district committees. Jane Bauer will sit on the Orange County nominating Committee on School District Organization, Burrage will represent the district on the Coastline Regional Occupation Program and Tuchman will sit on the District Academic Growth/Professional Growth Committees. Ferguson will sit on an Orange County School Board Assn. committee.
