Associated Press
MUNICH —
A rare Gagliano violin has disappeared without a trace from the Prince Regent Theater in Munich, police said Friday.
The instrument, built by Italian master craftsman Nicola Gagliano in 1774, is valued at $141,000, police said. Police believe it was stolen late Thursday or early Friday from the theater’s locked property room.
The violin was owned by the Interior Ministry in Bonn and was on loan to the theater, police said.
