Toxic Discharges
Under the state Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, Ventura County must report each week the toxic and potentially toxic materials discharged. The discharges are investigated by the county Environmental Health Division. DATE: Nov. 30 LOCATION: 706 W. Harvard Blvd., Santa Paula MATERIAL: 50 gallons of gasoline DATE: Dec. 3 LOCATION: Oilfield, Rancho Canada de San Miguelito, west of Ventura Avenue between Ventura and Ojai MATERIAL: Two barrels of oil DATE: Dec. 7 LOCATION: 6001 S. Perkins Road, Oxnard MATERIAL: 40,000 gallons of partially treated sewage DATE: Dec. 9 LOCATION: Texaco oilfield, off California 33 between Ventura and Ojai MATERIAL: 10 gallons of waste oil and diesel fuel
