Arson Suspected in House Blaze; 1 Held
Arson is suspected in a fire Saturday morning that caused $225,000 damage to a house at 1046 S. Marjan St., the Fire Department reported. A suspect, who was not identified, was detained and being questioned Saturday, fire officials said.
Division Chief Steve Magliocco said the single-family house had been the target of an arsonist earlier in the week. Magliocco did not release any details of the earlier arson attempt.
The blaze at the house Saturday occurred about 9 a.m., when the residents were out of town, Magliocco said. He said a cat inside the house was rescued by firefighters.
Anaheim firefighters were assisted by units from the Orange Fire Department. The blaze took 36 minutes to extinguish, Magliocco said.
One Anaheim firefighter, who was not identified, suffered a slight eye injury, Magliocco said.
