NBA ROUNDUP : Suns Increase Streak to 13 Games, 129-88
The Phoenix Suns showed no signs of fatigue Sunday night, defeating the Denver Nuggets, 129-88, at Phoenix for their franchise-record 13th consecutive victory.
Richard Dumas scored 27 points and Charles Barkley added 21 as the Suns handed the Nuggets their 11th loss in a row.
“I told the team before the game I was tired of the fourth-quarter heroics and I wanted a blowout,” Sun Coach Paul Westphal said. “I realize now I should have asked for it sooner.”
Cedric Ceballos scored 16 points and had 12 rebounds for the Suns, who have not lost in December.
The Suns have the league’s best record at 20-4, and the longest winning streak.
Sacramento 118, Boston 102--Wayman Tisdale scored 31 points at Sacramento as the Kings beat the Celtics for the first time since Feb. 11, 1986.
Lionel Simmons added 25 points for the Kings, who led, 62-52, at halftime and used a 9-0 run during a 48-second span midway through the fourth quarter to put the game away.
Alaa Abdelnaby scored 26 points for the Celtics.
