Slain Man Needed Help
I am very concerned about the story “A Man Deputy Killed Made Threats, Authorities Say” (Times Valley Edition. Dec. 7)
The person who was killed was portrayed as a criminal. I have known him since he was a baby. He was a 21-year-old boy who needed help.
It would be nice if you could portray the other side, of friends and family who are hurting. The coroner has announced that there were no drugs or alcohol involved and the case is under investigation.
Why can’t someone look into his past and find out what kind of a person he was, and how many people cared about him, instead of portraying him as “a knife-wielding man.”
He was trying to find himself, like lots of boys at 21.
