The New York Rangers traded Kris King and Tie Domi to Winnipeg for Ed Olczyk, the Jets’ leading scorer last season.

Olczyk, who plays all three forward positions, scored 32 goals in 64 games for Winnipeg last season and has eight goals and 12 assists in 25 games this season. Olczyk, 26, has 247 goals and 342 assists in 635 games since moving into the NHL after playing for the United States in the 1984 Olympics.

Olczyk was drafted by Chicago, the third player picked in the 1984 entry draft. He played three years for the Blackhawks and three more for Toronto before moving on to the Jets in 1990. His best season was 1987-88, when he scored 42 goals for the Maple Leafs.
