Power Failure Stops Los Alamitos 10th Race
The 10th race at Los Alamitos was canceled Sunday night because of a power failure.
As the field for the 10th race was heading for the starting gate at 9:35 p.m., the lights in the chute--where the 350-yard race was to begin--went out. After a 10-minute delay, the race was canceled.
The 11th and 12th races were transferred to 300 yards, where sufficient lighting was available.
The track refunded $77,277, dampening an otherwise strong night of wagering.
