LANCASTER : Fire Station Design Contract Approved

Share

Los Angeles County supervisors on Tuesday approved a contract for the design of the Lancaster Fire Station, which is being relocated to make way for the Antelope Valley Courthouse.

The contract calls for the Claremont Environmental Design Group to be paid up to $206,450 to adapt plans that had been used for a new fire station in San Dimas.

In all, the relocation will cost $1.9 million, and the money will come from the state’s Robbins Courthouse Construction Fund.

The fire station now stands on Avenue M, part of the site chosen for the new courthouse.

It will move to the east side of 6th Street West, just north of Avenue M.

County fire officials believe that adapting the San Dimas plans will speed up the relocation and thus hasten construction of the courthouse.
