PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Estancia Upsets Third-Ranked Trabuco Hills

Five Estancia players scored in double figures to lead the Eagles to a 76-70 upset of Trabuco Hills, the third-ranked team in Orange County, in a Pacific Coast League boys’ basketball game Friday at Estancia High School.

Jim Faulkner had 21 points and eight rebounds, Clay Frenz added 15 points and Chad Kinney 14 for Estancia (10-8, 3-0 in league).

Brett Poulos had 21 points, including three three-pointers, and Matt Moore added 17 points for Trabuco Hills (15-4, 2-1).

In other league games:

Laguna Hills 60, Costa Mesa 42--Guard Matt Stilson led host Laguna Hills (8-8, 2-1) with 11 points and Aaron Brunsteter and Bryan Jones each scored nine. Costa Mesa is 8-7, 0-3.

Laguna Beach 52, Century 36--Taylor Butcher scored 16 points and Ian McDonald had 14 points, including four three-pointers, for the Artists (9-7, 1-2), who outscored Century 14-0 in the third quarter. Darvin Thompson, who left the game in the third quarter with a sprained knee, scored a team-high nine points for Century (12-5, 1-2).
