The Factors in Man’s Beating in Laguna
With the abhorrent beating of Loc Minh Truong in Laguna (which police described as a gay-bashing incident) still fresh in everybody’s mind, perhaps now is the appropriate time to thank a few people.
Let us start with Bob Dornan, Bill Dannemeyer, Pat Buchanan and Lou Sheldon. Thank you for the many years of tireless work in spewing out your hateful venom.
We should also thank those ignorant enough to buy into their mean-spirited views. Finally, special kudos to those who pass this on to their kids.
What these public figures and parents fail to realize is that young people, including the three charged in the Laguna case, are at an impressionable age.
If a young person has not yet developed a strong sense of self-identity, they stand to fall victim to this nasty, anti-gay propaganda.
Often, this may manifest itself in harassment, violence and/or death against gays and lesbians.
